If you step into most classrooms across the world, you’ll see a familiar scene: a teacher at the front, lesson plan in hand, directing the flow of learning. The teacher explains, the students listen, notes are taken, and tests follow. It’s a rhythm most of us grew up with. The teacher teaches; the students absorb. But step into an Acton Academy studio, and something feels different. There’s no teacher at the front. No one giving instructions or holding the answer key. Instead

I often wonder if people first encountering our language about a hero's journey dismiss it as cute rhetoric aimed at children.

Last week we took a moment to reflect on the first half of our mission: finding a calling. Let’s turn our attention this week to the second half: changing the world.

Dear Acton family,  The beginning of a new year is sure to bring many things – the anticipation of new adventure, the joyful exuberance of a lip dub production, and (sigh) the return of the early morning routine. Amidst this flurry of activity, one thing always seems to find its way back to me. A bit like a perennial flower that had been dormant for a season, it reappears this time of year regardless of whether I consciously pursue it.
